Phoebe Cates rose to stardom in the 1980s, dominating the silver screen with several movies, like Fast times at Ridgemont High and Gremlins. She is also a singer and model, who later on became a store owner. She also conquered the magazine world, dominating every teen magazine cover then, like Seventeen, Tiger Beat, and Teen Beat, among others. Cates, too, became part of the small screen, playing Lili’s role in the mini-series, Lace. Although she had a hard time playing her role, her line made history by being the most incredible line delivered on TV.

In 1994, she ultimately retired from acting. The multi-talented star then made an investment, opening up her own boutique, called Blue Tree, on Madison Avenue. It also increased her income.
