CASSANDRA PETERSON, 70 YEARS OLD

Fans will quickly remember the alluring beauty of Cassandra Peterson as the horror hostess Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. The now-70-year-old star gained international prominence when she did the stage persona of Elvira, hosting the weekly B movie presentation Elvira’s Movie Macabre.

However, aside from getting credits as the Halloween icon, Peterson has also made a number of works outside the Elvira sphere. She was part of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, opposite Paul Reubens. She also did Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold with Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone and All About Evil. Although it has been decades since Peterson plays the role of Elvira, she still reprises this character to this day, even in other shows. Once again, she donned her legendary black dress for the TV series Elvira’s 40th Anniversary, Very Scary, Very Special Special for the franchise’s commemoration.
