George Clooney | Tesla Roadster 2008 | $100,000

George Clooney, known as the actor who played Danny Ocean in the 2001 hit film Ocean’s Eleven, is widely considered one of the most successful male actors ever to come out of Hollywood. And with a net worth of $500 million, there is little left to say other than to agree. From Tango T600 to the Tesla Roadster 2008, the actor was in an electric vehicle craze back in the 2000s. Although the Tango T600 was not an efficient or cheap car in the least, it was also sold at the price point of other more significant and arguably better full-sized electric vehicles.

Although Clooney was an early investor and even endorsed the brand, it failed to live up to its expectations. Then came an alternative, now-billionaire Elon Musk’s flagship Tesla Roadster 2008. Without the need for gas, it was an all-electric sports car that had a range of 200 miles and the capability of going 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Although falling behind its upcoming 2021 successor in terms of specs, it’s still an important milestone for all-electric cars, which paved the way to their eventual success.
