Elvis Presley | BMW 507 | $3,500

Given credit for being one of the most significant cultural icons during the 20th century, Elvis Presley lived a life in the limelight for most of his life. Widely honored as the King of Rock and Roll, he energized and transformed his music to influence color lines. His acting career was cut short when he was drafted into the military in 1958, two years after launching his film Love Me Tender.  He then re-launched his music and acting career upon discharge.

He also took his sports car, a BMW 50, home. The King had it repainted red from the original white because ladies loved to leave messages on the vehicle using red lipstick. While the thought was touching, it could be considered a form of vandalism, hence the repainting to at least hide the tint. In 2016, however, BMW made the necessary investment to restore the sports car to its former glory.
